Project Construction Engineer

Job Title: Project EngineerProject site is in Steedman, MO. Per Diem is available for travel.Job DescriptionThe Project Construction Engineer will lead facility-related construction and capital improvement projects at a nuclear power plant. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who can manage the delivery of multiple concurrent projects from scope development through closeout. The company is widely recognized for its collaborative culture, strong mentorship, and commitment to safety and quality, allowing engineers to gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle-from design through construction.Responsibilities+ Drive safety, schedule, quality, and cost performance across a portfolio of site facility projects.+ Ensure execution of work aligns with nuclear safety culture, station procedures, outage/work management processes, and quality requirements.+ Oversee projects including civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, I&C, buildings/grounds, infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and plant support systems.Essential Skills+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Construction Engineering, or related field).+ 5+ years of experience in delivering industrial or power generation construction projects, with nuclear site experience strongly preferred.+ Experience managing multiple projects concurrently with responsibility for schedule, cost, and contractor performance.+ Working knowledge of construction safety practices, field execution planning, and quality control/inspection processes.+ Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional plant stakeholders and contractor teams.+ Ability to work on-site in a regulated environment and comply with site access requirements.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Technical excellence and integrity.+ Collaboration and ownership in delivering exceptional results.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in an engineering office, with most time spent at a nuclear plant, either in the engineering office or conducting walk downs. The environment is highly regulated, requiring adherence to strict safety and quality standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
