Job Summary: The Fleet Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program that ensures the safe operation of all equipment, prolongs its lifespan, and completes repairs in a timely manner. The role involves leading a team, managing maintenance processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company standards.Supervisory Responsibilities: - Team Includes: Mechanics, Cleaners, Support Clerks- Oversee maintenance of vehicles and facilities- Evaluate and enhance department operational performance Principle Duties & Responsibilities: This position manages the following functional areas:- Report operational progress to the direct supervisor- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company best practices- Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance, including preventive, mechanical, and electrical repairs on buses, trucks, and trailers- Prioritize and assign work to meet customer needs- Oversee quality, compliance, and safety of all company assets- Control repair, inventory, and labor costs- Coach and mentor mechanics- Manage facilities, ensuring a clean and safe working environment- Ensure timely and accurate repair and cleaning practices Required Skills & Abilities: - Proven experience as a bus mechanic- Valid CDL and clean driving record- Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws- Strong verbal and written communication skills- Ability to multitask and handle emergency situations- Availability to travel to remote locations and be on call for emergencies- Flexible with night shifts and early morning work to observe and coach staff- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities- Leadership skills with a focus on accountability- In-depth knowledge of the transportation and mechanics industry- Commitment to DPV’s core values- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareSalary: Starting at $80,000 + bonus
