Please join us if your goals align with ours!We are looking for an Electrical Engineer responsible for calibrating and testing a next-generation phased array antenna for satellite communications. As an antenna test engineer at Farcast, you will be responsible for calibrating and testing an array, including measuring S-parameters, radiation patterns, EIRP, and G/T. In this role, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team including RF, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to deliver test plans, understand design trade-offs, and fully characterize the system’s radiated performance. The ideal candidate has a background in antenna measurements and strong knowledge of implementing scripting for automation.ResponsibilitiesExecute test procedures for active antenna systemsAutomate testing processes using scripting (Python)Interface with lab equipment using SCPI commandsOperate and maintain specialized test equipment, including antenna chambers, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzersCollaborate with design teams (hardware and software) for test execution and design validationRequired ExperienceHands-on experience executing test procedures for antenna systemsExperience automating test workflows using scripting languages, preferably Python, for data collection, test control, and result analysisProficiency in interfacing with laboratory instruments via SCPI commands, including command sequencing, error handling, and data retrievalDirect experience operating RF test equipment, such as: Antenna chambers, Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum analyzers, and signal generatorsAbility to collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software engineering teamsto support test execution, debug failures, and validate design performance against requirementsExperience documenting test procedures, results, and anomalies, with the ability to clearly communicate findings to engineering stakeholdersEducationBS in Electrical Engineering or similarWhat Makes You Stand OutExperience with and knowledge of antenna theory Experience with design and test of phased array antennas Base SalaryFinal compensation package will include a competitive base salary, meaningful company stock options, and a comprehensive package of cash and non-cash benefits.
