This role is part of our small Chicago-based team of designers who collaborate daily with the Jackson studio, providing dedicated design and project support across a range of project types.The ideal candidate brings strong design leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to guide projects through all phases of the architectural process. As a Senior Architect at Northworks, you will lead key project efforts, mentor emerging designers, and contribute to the continued growth of our cross-studio collaboration model.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the design and execution of complex architectural projects, primarily for the Jackson, WY studio, from concept through construction.Serve as a main point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear communication and project alignment.Develop and present high-level design concepts, drawings, renderings, and presentations.Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and team resources.Collaborate closely with small project teams of 1–3 architects or designers.Support the Jackson studio through consistent cross-office communication and shared design reviews.Foster a collaborative environment by contributing to team workshops, charrettes, and knowledge-sharing sessions.Mentor junior architects and emerging professionals within the Chicago studio.Participate in firm-wide initiatives, standards development, and continuous improvement efforts.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.7–10 years of experience in architectural design, project management, and leadership roles.Architectural license highly preferred but not required.Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard tools.Experience working across diverse project types, including residential, commercial, and hospitality.Strong communication, organization, and client management skills.Ability to work in-person from the Chicago studio.View your Application History
