Star Swiss CNC Programmer and Setup Specialist (Medical Devices)Rochester Hills, MI · On-site · Full-time · Day shift (7:00am to 4:00pm)ROMD is a small, ISO 13485-certified medical device and implant contract manufacturer in Rochester Hills. We run tight-tolerance, low-volume, high-mix work on Star Swiss-type lathes, and we're adding a programmer and setup specialist to our Swiss cell as we bring on a third Star machine. You'd work alongside a machinist with decades on these machines and own setups and programs end to end.What you'll own:Program and set up Star Swiss-type lathes (SR-20R class) from print to first article.Build processes from CAD models and drawings, prove out new jobs, and carry them through first article inspection.Run complex setups and changeovers in a high-mix shop where setup is most of the work. The target is turning a previously proven complex job around in roughly four to five hours.Use PartMaker (or comparable CAM) for complex 3D geometry and hand-program the rest.Work within medical device documentation and change control (ECRs).What we're looking for:Hands-on Star Swiss programming and setup, not operate-only. This is the core of the role.Five or more years of Swiss programming and setup, or demonstrably equivalent capability. We care more about whether you can independently set up, prove out, and program these machines than about a specific year count.Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T and translate them into a working process. You don't need SolidWorks, you need to read a print.Familiarity with Star SR-20R-class machines is a strong plus.Medical device experience is a plus, not a requirement.Details:On-site in Rochester Hills, MI.
