Sous Chef/Line Cook

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook or Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food industry, with experience in kitchen management and cooking. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation while fostering a positive work environment. Duties Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance. Oversee kitchen staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure efficient operations. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all food handling regulations. Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods, including banquets and special events. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety practices, and kitchen procedures. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure consistency in quality and presentation of all dishes. Skills Proven experience in food service management within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Some knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and kitchen operations. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn new techniques and trends in the food industry.
