Engine Machine Operator
ENGINE OPERATOR:Estes Rockets, located in Penrose, CO, the world-renowned leading manufacturer of innovative hobby products for the model rocket industry, is looking for an Engine Machine Operator to run engine machines that make Estes model rocket motors/engines.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Set up and load machine with assigned engine typeInspect engines being producedFill out labels for engine type and daily production paperworkWear protective equipment including safety glasses, earplugs, coveralls, conductive boots, and conductive wrist strapsFollow all safety procedures and all engine manufacturing proceduresAssist in unloading black powder and delay powder shipmentsCommunicate any problems to engine manufacturing supervisor or engine manufacturing lead operatorTest model rocket enginesAdjust on powder measuresKeep machine and work area cleanOther duties as directed by department managerQualifications: Must be able to perform minor maintenance on machines, repair or replace parts, clamps, pushrods, rams, drifts, pneumatic cylinders, and pneumatic switchesMust be able to perform manual laborMust possess manual dexterityGood hand eye coordination is requiredMust maintain excellent attendanceGood math skills as they apply to production and inventory countsMust be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and peers verbally and in writingMust be able to work alone with indirect supervision of lead person and engine manufacturing supervisorRequirements: High school diploma or equivalent requiredMust be at least 21 years oldMust be able to work overtime as directedPhysical Requirements: Requires the ability to stand and work on feet for the entire dayMust be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.Must be able to push or pull up to 180 lbs. on a cartMust be able to push or pull up to 1200 lbs. on a pallet jackMust be able to stand or walk 95% -100% of shiftMust be able to move about with no difficulty to keep pace with established job production standardsMust be able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and crouch with no difficultyFinger dexterity required to perform the tasks of each production station without difficultyWork Environment: Must be able to work in outdoor environmentWill be exposed to cold weather, hot weather, rain and snowNoise level moderate (hearing protection required and provided)Additional Eligibility Qualifications: The candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a thorough background check in order to become licensed with the State of Colorado Explosives Board, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the Department of Homeland Security.
