Cloud Architect Contractor

CSI Companies is seeking an experienced GCP Platform Onboarding Engineer to support cloud platform onboarding initiatives and developer enablement efforts. This role focuses on building reusable onboarding accelerators, automation frameworks, and infrastructure templates that reduce onboarding time while maintaining compliance with enterprise standards and platform guardrails.This opportunity is ideal for a cloud engineer who enjoys creating scalable solutions, enabling development teams, and driving adoption of cloud platform best practices across enterprise environments.You will partner with platform, engineering, and DevOps teams to develop onboarding frameworks and improve the overall developer experience.Hours: Standard business hoursLocation: Onsite in San Francisco CaliforniaPay: $80–90/hrPosition Type: Consultant to HireWork AuthorizationCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible for W2 employment. No sponsorship and no corp to corp arrangements are available.What you will do• Develop and maintain Terraform modules and onboarding templates aligned with platform standards• Create golden path onboarding workflows and developer facing documentation• Prototype reference implementations and harden solutions for enterprise adoption• Build automation solutions using Python and cloud native services• Support onboarding initiatives across GCP environments• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve onboarding experiences• Support early adopter teams and gather feedback for continuous improvement• Contribute to DevOps and SDLC best practices• Support Vertex AI and other cloud services where applicable• Ensure onboarding processes align with governance and platform guardrailsWhat we are looking for• 8 to 14 years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related roles• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform• Strong hands on experience with Terraform• Experience developing automation using Python• Experience with software development lifecycle practices• Experience supporting cloud onboarding and platform adoption initiatives• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud services• Strong documentation and communication skills• Strong problem solving and collaboration skillsNice to have• Experience with Vertex AI• Experience creating developer self service solutions• Experience building reusable cloud accelerators and templates• Experience working in enterprise cloud transformation initiatives• Experience supporting platform engineering teamsWho Should ApplyThis role is ideal for a cloud engineer who enjoys enabling development teams, building reusable platform solutions, and driving cloud adoption through automation and best practices.About UsThe CSI Companies is a leading staffing and recruiting firm providing organizations with highly skilled professionals since 1994.
