Commercial Drywall Finisher

Job Type: Full-time Overview: Sun Construction & Facility Services, Inc is actively pursuing commercial steel stud framers, drywall hangers and finishers to fill several key positions within our company. Qualified individuals will be expected to perform all aspects of framing, drywall hanging, or drywall finishing. Framers/hangers/finishers work under the direction of the project supervisor/foreman to layout and frame new walls, soffits and ceilings, to hang drywall, and to finish drywall. Projects will include new construction and remodel; ground up and tenant finishes, and other misc. projects. Primary Responsibilities Depending Upon Position Include: Responsible for following Sun Construction’s safety policy and working safely at all times. Contribute to daily job hazard analysis and toolbox talks. Set a strong example in safety and work ethic for others to follow. Follow verbal and written directions of site supervision. Follow project related blueprints and drawings. Demo walls and ceilings as the project requires. Accurately lay out and frame walls, soffits, and ceilings. Install door and window frames. Hang drywall. Finish drywall. Clean all tools and equipment. Perform daily and end of project site cleanup. Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience in steel stud framing hanging or finishing drywall in a commercial/industrial setting. Must have reliable transportation to your job site. Physical demands include, but are not limited to balancing, kneeling, crawling, crouching, reaching, and climbing ladders. Also, lifting, pushing, and pulling various weights up 50-100 pounds. Must have your own hand tools. Must be able to operate typical construction related power tools and equipment: circular saw, sawsall, chop/cutoff saw, grinder, portaband saw, screw gun, drill, hammer drill, powder/power actuated tools, and others. Experience in operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts. Experience installing acoustic ceilings. Must be able to pass a background check and substance abuse screening. Willingness to work as a part of Sun Construction’s general workforce helping with concrete or general labor as needed.
