If you have the Drive, We have the Vehicle.Job SummaryThe Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. If you are a skilled mechanic tired of seasonal layoffs or limited growth, Quirk Auto Group offers the training to convert your existing skills into a high-earning automotive career.Job Responsibilities:*Perform work as outlined on repair order (diagnosing engine, electrical, and mechanical issues) with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standardsCommunicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if vehicle is awaiting parts, and pursue special order of parts if necessaryDiagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customerExamine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is requiredNotify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promisedDocument work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction formatRoad-test vehicles to check work performedEnsure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being servicedKeep shop area neat clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all timesUnderstand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wasteDemonstrates behaviors consistent with the company's vision, mission and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliersAdheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standardsFollow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicalsQualificationsMust meet company's requirements for employmentAbility to read and comprehend written instructions and informationGeneral mechanical skillsMust have a valid driver's licenseAbility to drive manual transmission vehiclesProfessional appearanceManual dexterity, good judgment, and the ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safelyThree years of work experience as a service technician or mechanic in a related field (Marine, Small Engine, Heavy Equipment) preferred.Demonstrated customer service skillsASE certification (preferred)Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsExposure to inclement weather. Ability to operate an automobileProlonged periods of standing, stooping, and bendingExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objectsRequires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and /or pulling of materialsRequired EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentMust have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of a pre-employment testTechnical or trade school degree preferredCome work for Quirk!
