Join on of the top Heavy Machinery Manufacturing Company as a Structural Analysis Engineer to support cooling and aftertreatment teams.Position: Structural Analysis EngineerLocation: Mossville/Chillicothe, IllinoisDuration: 01 year of initial contract (Extendable)Job Responsibilities:Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or in collaboration with supplier firmLog quality issues and arrange for corrections to modelsPerform model setup, submit jobs to high-performance computing clusterPerform simulations of static, modal, and dynamic simulationsDevelop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigueAuthor reports containing assumptions, models and resultsDraw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partnersContribute to and participate in peer reviewsContribute to improvements in simulation methods and processesTasks:Perform structural system analysis and simulation for structural integrity, response, performance, and service life of aftertreatment and/or cooling components and systemsProvide product design and development teams with timely conclusions and best actionable recommendations and solutionsWork to continuously improve the accuracy of analysis processes and tools.Technical Skills:(Required)Understanding of dynamics, material properties and fatigueExperience with structural simulations for static, vibration, transient dynamic, boundary and material nonlinear, fracture and fatigue life, bolted joint, and welded structuresExperience with ABAQUS and Hypermesh(Desired) Experience in machine dynamic simulation Experiences in nonmetallic structural simulation, user defined material behavior modeling, and component interaction modelingExperiences in machine and structural design and validationPro/E skills sufficient for FE model preparationEducation & Experience Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Field plus 05-07 years of experienceMS plus 02-04 years of experiencePhD plus 01-02 years of experienceIndustrial experience in structural analysis, preferably with a focus on static and/or dynamic analysisReady to Level Up Your Career?Click Apply Now and let's make it happen.
