Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial machine shop equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses primarily on 220V and 480V three-phase electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and hydraulic systems, with additional responsibility for maintaining CNC machines and traditional machine shop tools. The technician works independently to diagnose issues, complete repairs efficiently, and ensure equipment reliability while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on a wide range of industrial machine shop equipment with an emphasis on electrical systems.Troubleshoot and repair 220V and 480V three-phase electrical systems, including power distribution, controls, and related components.Diagnose and repair 24V control systems, including sensors, switches, and wiring issues.Troubleshoot CNC machines, including controls, drives, motors, and communication faults, to minimize downtime.Conduct mechanical repairs on lathes, mills, grinders, and other shop equipment as needed.Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs, including identifying leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics and panel wiring to support accurate diagnostics and repairs.Trace and diagnose issues within PLC-controlled systems by following input/output logic (no programming required).Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed to support equipment repairs and modifications.Conduct preventive maintenance on all production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and parts usage in a clear and organized manner.Work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and respond to reactive maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Support general machine shop maintenance, including CNC maintenance, plumbing, and general building maintenance when needed.Collaborate with team members and leadership to support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and maintenance processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CNC machine maintenance is a significant plus.Welding skills and the ability to perform basic fabrication to support repairs and modifications.Familiarity with plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.Exposure to PLC programming is a plus, even though it is not required for this role.Experience working in a machine shop maintenance environment.Comfort working in a setting with both reactive and preventive maintenance, with strength in reactive troubleshooting.Ability to follow electrical and control logic systematically to identify root causes of equipment issues.Why Work Here?The organization offers a very clean, temperature-controlled work environment with modern, state-of-the-art equipment and a continually upgraded facility. The environment is a modern manufacturing and machine shop setting with CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, hydraulic systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
