Quality Assurance Technician DescriptionGrade Level 7 (Non Exempt)DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Technician is a hands-on position responsible for training and developing production operators on effective testing of finished product at a level that will enable Palram Americas to meet sales and service objectives. The Quality Assurance Technician also performs testing, inspection, and release of finished product to meet sales and service objectives. Collaboration with other members of the production, supply chain, sales, purchasing, customer support teams, and parent and sister companies is paramount to achieve sales and service objectives.Reports to:Quality Assurance SupervisorEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Position is a rotating 12-hour shiftDayshift: 7:AM - 7PM, Nightshift: 7:00PM - 7:00AMTrains Shift Managers and line operators on effective and reliable quality testing procedures and policies to ensure quality standardsPerforms quality testing and checks to ensure adherence to quality specifications such as thickness, color and lengthCross trains across the value stream to ensure quality standards are achieved in the Polycarbonate, PVC and warehouse operationsEngages with machine operators to assure familiarity with quality specificationsManages computerized systems for specifications and customer requirementsCreates, maintains, and distributes defect data into spreadsheets using Excel or applicable softwareReview QC inspection and test instruction at each line for effectiveness and makes updates/ changes as neededRecords and reports results to provide necessary information to assure that products have been manufactured in accordance with quality standardsEngages with co-workers and supervisors to collaboratively solve process and product problems and accurately record productionAssists the Quality Assurance Supervisor to drive and foster a continuous improvement environment throughout the organizationParticipates and performs ISO 9001 internal auditsResponsible to perform Line Audits and other duties and activities as directedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
