AV Engineer
DescriptionPreform system design, programming, and commissioning for conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, operations centers, and executive briefing environments. You will work across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Q-SYS platforms, partnering with Project Management, Installation, and Service to deliver complete solutions from concept through final acceptance.Additional DetailsDevelop AV system designs including signal flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and rack elevationsCreate engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and bills of materialsConfigure and commission of Q-SYS control and DSP platformsConfigure network settings, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP infrastructureConduct site surveys, needs assessments, and pre-sales discovery with customersSupport Project Managers with technical proposals, scope of work documents, and customer presentationsVerify installed systems against design specifications and resolve commissioning issuesProvide escalation support to Service and Installation teams and deliver end-user trainingMaintain currency with emerging technologies and manufacturer product linesAdditional Skills & QualificationsRequirementsMinimum 5 years of total AV industry experience, or 2 years in a dedicated AV design or engineering roleHands-on experience with control system programming (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or similar)Hands on experience with Epsom, Logitech, D10 environmentsProficiency in DSP configuration and commercial audio system designWorking knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and familiarity with ZDM and WolfVision Strong networking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IPAbility to produce technical drawings using AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam, or equivalentExcellent troubleshooting, documentation, and written communication skillsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New Haven, CT.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
