Description POSTING NUMBER : N169 - 2526 POSTING DATE : December 5, 2025 CLOSING DATE : Until filled POSITION : Night Leadperson Custodian II LOCATION(S) : Montessori Magnet at Batchelder REPORTS TO : Head Custodian and/or School Principal, Night Custodial Supervisor, Custodial Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing, leading and supervising night shift custodial personnel. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize and schedule the work to be accomplished by staff, including custodial work, monitoring of school and community functions held within the building. Clean and wash floors and walls; dust and polish furniture. Wash exterior windows from ground level and interior windows from ladder, as required. Clean light fixtures; change electrical light lamps and bulbs. Clean restrooms and facilities. Strip, wax and polish floors. Check room temperature on thermostat. Shift furniture in auditorium and classrooms and arrange rooms for use by schools and outside organizations. Open and secure facilities as needed. Make minor repairs to buildings and equipment, including but not limited to painting of steps and floors. Sweep sidewalks, remove snow from walkways, mow grounds, rake, trim shrubbery, pick up waste from lawns, rake and clean play areas as appropriate. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designee. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment used in large public buildings. Knowledge of simple maintenance and repair work and the materials and tools required. Ability to understand the relationship between a clean and healthy environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups. Ability to understand and carry out direct instructions. Must be able to work within difficult time constraints and under stressful conditions. CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : N/A SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Salary in accordance with Local 566, AFL-CIO Salary Schedule 77: $44,020 - $48,096 with a 10% shift differential, twelve-month work year. 77.1 Night Leadsman Class II will receive 25 cents per hour higher than lane 77; UNION AFFILIATION : The Board recognized Local 566 American Federation of State, Municipal and County Employees, AFSCME as the exclusive bargaining unit for this position.
