Job Description Position OverviewThe faculty member will engage actively in clinical, research, and academic services within the Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Clinical duties will involve providing patient care at local hospitals, including UW Hospital and Clinics and Meriter UnityPoint Hospital. The physician will address a variety of complex gynecologic conditions using both office-based and surgical treatment options. Proficiency in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery is highly desirable for the ideal candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in a multi-disciplinary pelvic pain clinic.Contribute to the development and maintenance of a program for office-based procedures.Collaborate with colleagues in the academic specialist division to enhance surgical skills by assisting and instructing during advanced benign gynecologic surgeries.Engage fully in on-call duties for the benign gynecology service.Research and EducationThe ideal candidate should have a proven interest in clinical and/or educational research, with expectations to initiate and engage in various research projects and quality outcome programs. Teaching responsibilities will include mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful applicant will also participate in administrative tasks and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly objectives of the organization and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
