Located just minutes fromRocky Mountain National Park, the hotel offers amenities such as a complimentaryindoor pool, game room, etc. We also have an on-site restaurant called "Kissing Moose".Position SummaryThe Chief Engineer is primarily responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’sbuilding, grounds, and operational systems. This role oversees equipment,mechanical/electrical systems, and ensures compliance with safety and securityprotocols. The position also involves training staff, managing maintenance issues, andsupporting asset management to enhance guest experiences.WHO IS THIS POSITION FOR?The Chief Engineer role is best suited for someone who: Has strong technical skills and experience in building maintenance, particularly inhospitality settings. Is hands-on and proactive, able to identify and resolve maintenance issuespromptly. Possesses leadership skills to train and guide maintenance personnel, ensuringquality and compliance with safety standards. Opportunities for professional growth within Vista Host’s expanding portfolio.Duties And Responsibilities Maintain maintenance standards for both guest rooms and public areas, followingcompany and franchise guidelines. Train maintenance personnel in all aspects of property upkeep and provide basictraining to other staff members as needed. Review and resolve maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders,prioritizing and scheduling assignments accordingly. Ensure property and equipment are maintained safely, with all repairs made permanufacturer specifications. Uphold the integrity of the hotel’s safety and security programs, particularly relatedto HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, SDS, and OSHA compliance. Maintain the hotel’s pool, ensuring cleanliness, appearance, and chemical balancewhile completing maintenance logs. Function as an independent mechanic, analyzing problems, identifying solutions,and implementing repairs to a high standard. Respond to emergencies, acting as needed to protect guests, staff, and thebuilding’s systems. Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring full understanding of operationsand handling emergencies appropriately. Solicit bids from contractors, evaluate proposals, ensure compliance withspecifications, and verify valid liability insurance. Maintain building exterior, including grounds and landscaping, ensuring apresentable and safe environment. Maintain thorough maintenance logs, inventory, and requisition parts and suppliesas needed. Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program, ensuring ongoingupkeep of the property. Perform or assist with periodic cleaning projects as scheduled. Support energy management programs to optimize resource use. Assist other departments as needed and perform other related duties as assignedby management.Position Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally. Must be able to stand for extended periods. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
