DescriptionTheCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic, direct care and assists in daily activities for residents in a safe andefficient manner in accordance with current federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations, our establishedpolicies and procedures and, as directed by nursing staff.Works collaboratively to support the Mission and Values of SCBMA.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathe and dress residents, serve meals and assist residents to eat,take vital signs, reposition, provide and empty elimination equipment, lift or assist residentsinto beds, wheelchairs, etc, change linens and restock rooms with necessary suppliesRespond to resident call lights according to organization or regulatory entity policies and proceduresMake resident rounds every 2hrs and PRNReport observation of resident bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/woundsClean and sanitize resident areasEnsure compliance with universal precautions infection controlTransport residents and equipment in vehicles, wheelchairs or walking , assist with boarding and exiting andsecuring wheelchairs and safety belts as requiredIdentify and report malfunctioning equipment immediatelyAssist residents during admission and discharge, providing physical assistance and post mortem careParticipate in resident plan of careCommunicate information between physicians, residents and health care staff as appropriateReport and record all accidents/incidents immediatelyEnsure compliance with all regulations from DHEC, Fire and Safety, OSHA, Labor Laws, etc and adhere to HIPAAconfidentiality standards and Resident's RightsOther duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)High School Diploma (or GED) preferredCurrent SC Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification1+ years' experience in healthcare, long term care or working with the frail or elderlypreferredUnderstanding of physical and psychological effects of the aging process and ability to be respectful and tactfulwith potential clients, residents, family members, visitors, medical professionals and general public.Positive service oriented interpersonal and communication skills requiredCompassion for and desire to work with the elderlyDemonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to safely transport and transfer residentsGood organization and communication skillsComputer skillsTime oriented, dependableCommitted to 100% customer satisfactionRequirementsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentFull range of body motion with intermittent activities in walking, sitting, lifting, bending,squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting and standing.Ability to lift 50 pounds or moreMust have corrected vision and hearing in the normal rangeExposure to biological agents such as viruses and other microbesScheduled work during off hours including weekends, nights or holidays
