About This RoleWells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to be part of the Global Payments & Liquidity Treasury Technology organization helping to drive delivery of critical technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in architecting and designing solutions that promote reusability, scalability, efficiency, and resiliency and possess strong communication skills to articulate the proposed solutions with both technical and business partners. This role will enable the candidate to work across a horizontal set of payment products helping set payment standards across the board and aligning the strategy towards omni channel, unified payment workflows. The ideal candidate will collaborate across Technology, Platform Support and Business partners focusing on strategic vision, AI solutions and optimization of redundant payment systems.Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.comIn This Role, You WillAssist development team of experienced engineers with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technologyEnsure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each releasePartner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architectureFunction as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planningIdentify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standardsDetermine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvementBuild engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as neededInterpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise riskCollaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practicesInteract directly with third party vendors and technology service providersIdentify AI solutions and strategies for speed to market and optimized payment solutionsRequired Qualifications:7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education7+ years of experience with J2EE architecture (including Kafka, JMS, RESTful or SOAP/REST web services)5+ years of MongoDB experience7+ years of experience Strong understanding of Service-Oriented and microservices architectures and user Interface design4+ years of experience with Payment Systems - ACH, and/or Wires strongly preferred3+ years of experience with REACT, JSON, XML,Desired Qualifications:Hands-on experience working with Microservices, J2EE architectureStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyMust be able to work on multiple projects in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locationsAbility to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement changeProficient in monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and GrafanaStrong understanding of middleware and application server concepts like Integration, Transactions and XA transaction, Security, Connection pooling, Load balancing and Messaging; clustered server environment and familiar with system performance related tasksMust have excellent communications and teamwork skills, be self-directed, self-motivated, committed, and a quick learner.Job Expectations:Ability to work onsite at one of the posted locationsRelocation assistance is not availablePosting Locations:194 Wood Ave S, Iselin, NJ 08830300 S Brevard Street, Charlotte, NC 28202Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position.
