Manager, 2nd Shift Operations

The Manager, 2nd Shift Operations is responsible for leading all second shift production activities, including assembly, crating, material handling, and sheet metal operations. This role is accountable for meeting daily production goals related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost.This position ensures labor, materials, and processes are properly aligned to support efficient, uninterrupted production. The Manager, 2nd Shift Operations is expected to address issues in real time, drive performance, and maintain clear communication with 1st shift and plant leadership to ensure continuity across shifts. This role also plays a key part in developing supervisors, enforcing standards, and driving accountability across the production floor.Roles And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily with cross-functional plant leadership to understand production priorities and support overall operational goalsProvide leadership and direction to Assembly, Crating, Material Handling, Sheet Metal, and Quality teamsEnsure proper documentation and communication of off-shift issues requiring follow-up from Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and HRMaintain compliance with OSHA, EEOC regulations, company policies, and industry best practicesDevelop and manage staffing plans to meet production demands and optimize efficiencyEnsure material availability and inventory readiness to support uninterrupted productionOwn and drive performance outcomes related to cost, quality, and schedule, taking corrective action as neededPartner cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Logistics, and other departments to ensure alignment with manufacturing goalsCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to understand upcoming product designs and complexity and ensure tooling, equipment, and processes are production-readyMonitor workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvementsAnalyze production data and performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiativesDevelop and maintain systems, procedures, and reporting tools (e.g., Epicor, ADP)Lead and develop Supervisors and production teams through clear expectations, performance management, and coachingResolve operational issues through root cause analysis and corrective actionsMaintain technical and professional knowledge through ongoing training and industry benchmarkingSupport broader organizational initiatives as neededSkills And AbilitiesExperience in glass, window, curtainwall, or architectural products preferredWorking knowledge of industry-standard tools and equipmentStrong computer proficiency; experience with Epicor and ADP preferredAbility to lead teams and manage aggressive production schedulesWillingness to work on the production floor, including occasional nights and weekendsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, etc.)Ability to use and supervise the use of manual, electrical, and pneumatic toolsDexterity to interpret and apply assembly drawings (blueprints)QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred5+ years of relevant experience preferredExperience with Epicor and ADP is a plusNew Hudson Facades is an Equal Opportunity employer.
