We foster community, cultivate curiosity, inspire excellence, and lead with respect and accountability in every interaction.OUR INVESTMENT IN YOUPay Range: Unpaid internship (for academic credit)Schedule: Flexible based on academic requirements and Wellness Center programming needs Applications are reviewed as received and accepted until the internship is filled.WHAT YOU'LL GAINHands-on experience in a senior living wellness environmentMentorship from experienced wellness professionalsExposure to individualized fitness, group exercise, and interdisciplinary collaborationA supportive setting to apply classroom learning to real-world practiceExperience working with older adults across a continuum of careWHAT YOU'LL OWNResident Wellness SupportAssist with individualized exercise and wellness programs supporting strength, balance, mobility, and functional wellbeingSupport residents during supervised exercise sessions with encouragement, cueing, and demonstrations (within intern scope of practice)Engage with residents in a respectful, patient, and resident-centered mannerObserve participant response to activity and communicate concerns to Wellness Center staffProgram Assistance & Group ActivitiesSupport group exercise classes and wellness programs by assisting instructors and participantsHelp prepare and organize equipment and wellness spaces before and after programmingObserve effective facilitation techniques, pacing, cueing, and modifications for varying abilitiesProfessional Development & CollaborationCollaborate with Wellness Center staff and, when appropriate, interdisciplinary team membersAssist with basic documentation and wellness tracking under supervisionParticipate in meetings, training sessions, and educational opportunitiesFollow organizational wellness standards and ACSM-aligned practicesWHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCEDCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to exercise science, kinesiology, physiology, or health promotionInternship must fulfill academic credit requirementsJunior, senior, or graduate student standing requiredFoundational knowledge of exercise principles and interest in older adult fitnessExperience with older adults or in a wellness/healthcare setting is a plus, but not requiredAbility to speak, read, and write EnglishYOU'LL BE A GREAT FITBring curiosity, patience, and a strong desire to learnEnjoy building positive, respectful relationships with older adultsTake feedback well and apply learning in real timeValue teamwork, professionalism, and a mission-driven environmentAre dependable, organized, and attentive to safetyWHAT WE DOAt Frasier, we create a vibrant lifestyle for seniors through a full continuum of care-independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing.
