Real Estate Legal Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Legal Assistant to support the Residential Real Estate Team in preparing and amending title documents and researching title documents on all MA registry of deeds websites, and coordinating with paralegals, real estate agents, and attorneys with closing documents and timelines.
Duties
Responsible for maintaining multiple lender files for purchases and refinances in various states with a concentration on New England States and NY but not limited to only those states
Completing the title package for each borrower and coordinating with the lenders and borrowers to make any necessary changes or revisions until closing
Work with title insurance underwriters on title issues and defects.
Contact town offices, i.e. tax collections and assessors, for tax and property information, lien issues and obtaining releases.
Prepare drafts and review legal documents for closing, i.e. deed, POA, name and address affidavits, etc.
Coordinate with attorneys and real estate agents to obtain necessary documents for closing and obtain final utility reads/bills, commission statements, 6D and Smoke Certificates, payoffs for mortgages and liens.
Ensure prompt responses to phone/email inquiries and display professionalism in all client interactions.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, informing them of the process and addressing their concerns.
Maintain client database.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of real estate law and procedures
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes
- Experience in areas of Titles, property taxes and leins, and preparing legal drafts for closings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
