Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 2, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level II NICU, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency. Details Level II NICU in a 325-bed short-term acute care hospital Cares for neonates 32 weeks gestation and above; infants born earlier are stabilized and transported to tertiary facilities Patient conditions include RDS, sepsis, NOWS/NAS, feeder/growers, hyperbilirubinemia, hypoglycemia, failure to thrive, and IV antibiotics Procedures include IV placement (with VAT team backup), short-term intubation, PPN/Lipids, and EPIV management Charting via Epic (experience required) Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required: may float to Postpartum to care for stable couplets (1–2 orientation shifts provided if no couplet experience) and to Pediatrics at a 1:3 ratio for bili babies, feeder/growers, and failure-to-thrive cases (no acute or respiratory patients) Requirements Active WA state or compact RN license required Current BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required Epic EMR experience required Proficiency with IV placement, PPN/Lipids, EPIV, and short-term intubation support At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for a travel contract Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied Minimal RTO is preferred; significant RTO requests may impact eligibility Block scheduling is not available at this time American Traveler Job ID P-703743.
