Department Overview:The Student Involvement and Leadership Center creates opportunities for students to explore purpose, build meaningful connections, and develop the capacity to lead. Our work includes leadership development, support for student organizations, service and civic engagement, and campus activities. As Boise State continues to grow and evolve, our department is experiencing exciting renewal and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring experience in student development, organizational leadership, and assessment to strengthen student engagement efforts, support student leaders and organizations, and foster a collaborative, student-centered team culture.Job Summary/Purpose: The Fraternity and Sorority Life Coordinator supports the growth, development, and success of the fraternity and sorority community through advising, educational programming, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives. This position collaborates with students, campus partners, alumni, and inter/national organizations to foster a safe and values-based community that promotes academic achievement, wellness, civic engagement, and student leadership. The coordinator also assists with risk management, chapter accreditation, recruitment and retention efforts, conduct processes, and departmental operations in support of the mission of the Student Involvement and Leadership Center.Please note, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Level Scope:Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.Essential Functions:Fraternity and Sorority Advising, Programming, and SupportProvides day-to-day advising and support to current chapters and the Interfraternity, Panhellenic, and Multicultural Greek councilsDevelops, implements, and evaluates educational and social programming to promote leadership development, academic excellence, positive relationships, values congruence, wellness, and civic engagementBuilds collaborative relationships with campus and inter/national stakeholders, including advisors, alumni, parents, and headquarters staffSupports recruitment and new member education processes for the communityServes as an advocate and guide to chapter leadership throughout the conduct processServes as a liaison between campus and inter/national headquarters staff and supporting the expansion of new chapters on campusAdministrative And Departmental FunctionsManages the online event registration process for fraternities and sororities, considering risk management needs for chapter events and connecting chapter leaders to relevant campus and community resources, processes, and partnersAssists the administrative functions of the department related to fraternity and sorority lifeAssists in support and coordination of department and campus-wide programs as assignedServes as an engaged member of the Student Involvement and Leadership Center team, attending and coordinating programs, evaluating strengths and weaknesses of departmental programs, serving on university committees and program teamsPerform other duties as assignedOur Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate is a student-centered professional who is passionate about leadership development, relationship-building, and supporting a thriving fraternity and sorority community. This role requires someone who can build trust with students, advisors, alumni, and campus partners while effectively balancing advising, program coordination, administrative responsibilities, and community support in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will bring strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex student situations with professionalism and care. They should be comfortable advising student leaders, facilitating educational and social programming, supporting chapter operations and accountability processes, and helping students navigate university policies and expectations. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a highly engaged team. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experiencePreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in higher education or a related fieldExperience providing direct coaching and advising to studentsExperience in the fraternity/sorority industry, as a member and/or professionalExperience using a campus engagement platform such as CampusGroups, Engage, or similarSalary and Benefits:Salary for this role starts at $50,065.60, commensurate with experience.
