Intern - Payroll
This internship provides hands‑on experience in payroll administration, human resources recordkeeping, and business operations while working alongside experienced HR and Finance professionals.
Summary
The Payroll & HR Intern will support the Payroll and Human Resources functions by digitizing personnel and payroll records, organizing employee files, and assisting with administrative projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in gaining experience in payroll, human resources, and business operations.
What Success Looks Like
Employee and payroll records are accurately scanned, indexed, and organized
Personnel files are maintained in accordance with company policies
Digital records are easy to locate and properly categorized
Administrative projects are completed accurately and on schedule
Confidential employee information is handled professionally and securely
Primary Responsibilities
Scan, upload, and organize payroll and personnel documents into electronic filing systems
Review employee files for completeness and identify missing or outdated documentation
Index and categorize digital files to ensure consistency and ease of retrieval
Assist with maintaining employee records in accordance with company policies and retention requirements
Help transition paper-based records to electronic storage systems
Payroll & HR Support
Assist with payroll record maintenance and supporting documentation
Support HR staff with employee onboarding and personnel file administration
Prepare, sort, and organize documents related to payroll and human resources activities
Assist with audits of employee files and payroll records
Perform data entry and validation tasks as assigned
Administrative Support
Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information
Assist with special projects related to payroll, HR, and office administration
Support recordkeeping, reporting, and other administrative duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working with electronic filing systems and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Reports To: Payroll Manager and/or Human Resources Manager
