Occupational Therapist School Setting in Pecos, NM

A rewarding opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with experience in school settings. This contract-to-hire position is based in Pecos, NM, serving a diverse student population ranging from ages 3 to 21. The role supports students across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools.Key Responsibilities:Provide occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 41 students.Address developmental, sensory, and functional needs within a school environment.Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create individualized treatment plans.Use clinical expertise to improve students' participation and success in academic activities.Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational and therapy standards.Adapt therapy sessions to fit scheduled service times and varying student needs.Qualifications and Experience:Valid OT or COTA license with experience delivering services in schools.Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices across a wide age range (3-21).Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and effectively.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Flexibility to work approximately 21 to 28 hours weekly, with options to adapt daily schedules from 8 am until services are completed (up to 3 pm).Work Schedule and Other Details:Start Date: ASAPEnd Date: Mid-June, with potential extension for Extended School Year (ESY) services.Locations include multiple schools in Pecos, NM area.
