CMMC Compliance - Network Administrator
About Us
We are a growing tech support company serving clients in regulated industries, including organizations operating within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). Our team is small, focused, and serious about doing the work right. We take pride in building compliance environments that actually hold up under scrutiny — and we're looking for the right person to grow with us.
The Opportunity
This is not a flashy role. It is an important one.
We need a Network/Systems Administrator who will own the day-to-day technical administration of our clients' IT environments, with a particular focus on supporting and maintaining CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) compliance. You will help build, document, and uphold the controls and practices that protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and keep our clients audit-ready.
If you are the kind of person who finds satisfaction in a well-organized network diagram, a complete and accurate policy binder, or an audit that goes smoothly because you prepared it that way — we want to meet you.
What You'll Do
Administer and maintain Windows-based networks, servers, endpoints, and related infrastructure
Implement, monitor, and support security controls aligned to CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800-171) requirements
Create, maintain, and update technical documentation including network diagrams, system security plans (SSPs), asset inventories, and configuration baselines
Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures in accordance with CMMC practices
Support internal and third-party CMMC assessments and audits, including responding to assessor inquiries and demonstrating control implementation
Track and manage Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) to remediate identified gaps
Monitor systems for security events and ensure logging and alerting are functioning as required
Assist with onboarding new clients into compliant environments
Maintain a consistent and disciplined approach to change management and access control
Stay current on CMMC/NIST guidance updates and communicate relevant changes to the team
What We're Looking ForRequired
U.S. Citizenship (no exceptions — required for work involving CUI and DIB clients)
Moderate hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLANs), and endpoint management
Demonstrated ability to follow processes and procedures with consistency and precision
Strong written communication skills — you will be writing documentation that auditors read
High attention to detail — you catch things others miss, and you care that they're correct
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and track them to completion
Local to the Portland, Oregon metro area
Preferred (Not Required)
Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC framework, or other compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)
Experience with or exposure to System Security Plans (SSPs) or similar documentation
CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, or similar certifications
Experience with Microsoft 365 GCC or GCC High environments
Familiarity with MFA solutions, endpoint detection & response (EDR) tools, or SIEM platforms
The Traits That Matter Most
We'll be straightforward with you: we are willing to invest in developing the technical skills of the right candidate. What we cannot teach is character. The person who succeeds in this role will be:
Meticulous — compliance work lives or dies on the details
Organized — you maintain systems, records, and processes that others can rely on
Conscientious — you take ownership of your work and feel genuine accountability for its quality
Reliable — deadlines matter; audit dates don't move; we need to count on you
Steady — this work rewards consistency over brilliance
Curious — you're willing to learn a compliance framework deeply, not just skim the surface
