What You Drive At DTNAAs a Hardware and Energy Storage Engineer, you’ll help bring our autonomous platform to life by owning key elements of hardware integration, low-voltage architecture, and high-integrity energy storage. Responsibilities include:Develop and integrate vehicle hardware from customer requirements using core electrical engineering principles (power distribution strategy, zoning, grounding concept, return paths, EMC/EMI-focused wiring practices)Create, maintain, and communicate base truck Powernet architecture diagramsProvide hands-on technical support to development partners (internal and external)Lead cross-functional meetings to drive alignment, close open issues, and keep execution movingDesign and develop high-integrity energy storage features supporting minimum risk maneuvers (Voltage drop and power integrity analysis across operating modes)Define future concepts and project plans for next-generation technologies and higher ASIL targetsBuild and maintain battery simulation models using Simscape and Vector toolsKnowledge You Should Bring Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited university and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, is required.Strong knowledge of electrical fundamentals and circuit designStrong knowledge of low-voltage system techniques and best practicesExperience with low-voltage power distribution systemsExperience translating industry standards into requirements (e.g., ISO, SAE, VDA, IEEE)Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsComfortable working in ambiguity and rapid changeExperience with component development and supplier coordinationExperience with CAN/LIN communication protocolsAn attached resume is requiredExceptional Candidates Might Have A Masers degree is preferredSelf-starter who thrives with minimal supervisionCuriosity and motivation for complex, safety-focused engineering challengesDirect automotive experience in low-voltage power systemsExperience applying ISO 26262 to low-voltage power systemsGlobal collaboration experience in multi-cultural organizationsStrong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skillsExperience producing technical documentation and specificationsFamiliarity with Diagnostic Link tools and DTNA diagnostic protocolsWhere We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)-Portland, OR US.
