Job Position: Property Accountant / Controller Location: Bastrop, TX 78602 About the RoleOur client is seeking a skilled and proactive Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations and help support strategic decision-making. This individual will play a key role in freeing up leadership to focus on broader business priorities. The organization manages multiple land development projects in Bastrop, including a large-scale event venue and significant downtown holdings. Key ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle accounting processes across multiple entities Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for tax filings Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Develop and analyze cash flow reports and financial forecasts Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Handle job costing, particularly for development and construction projects Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and support high-level decision-making Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations QualificationsProven accounting experience (real estate or construction industry preferred, but not required) Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and income tax support Experience with full-cycle accounting (GL, AP/AR, P&L, close processes) Ability to build cash flow projections and financial forecasts Strong analytical skills and business acumen Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights Preferred QualificationsExperience in real estate, property management, or construction accounting CPA designation (or progress toward certification) Income tax experience Familiarity with Data Pro and QuickBooks
