Pack-Smart Operator
Packsmart Operator Job Summary:The primary responsibilities of the Packsmart operator will be to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machinery to produce high-quality products while leading a team of employees to successfully meet production goals.Additional Information:PLI is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture. PLI does not discriminate on the basis of disability, veteran status or any other basis protected under federal, state, or local laws.Essential Job Functions:Safely and with high quality, operate production machinery with a primary focus on the packsmart machineTrain general machine operators on safe and proper machine set up and operationInstruct and lead a team of 4+ employeesSafely make physical adjustments to the machineUnderstand how machines work, mechanical knowledge to be able to troubleshoot, adjust settings accordingly, and perform necessary repairsRead and understand dataReview first article, data proofs, and other production paperworkAudit quality for operations on each side of the running machine.Audit work instructions are being followed for safety, quality, and production throughout.Set-up work area/machines with no assistanceCan make camera adjustmentsPerform these and other duties assigned by Supervisor or other appropriate management personnelQualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High School Diploma or equivalent3+ years' experience in a progressive, high-volume manufacturing environmentPreferred experience on complex machinery with folder gluers with camera inspection systems (ex. Otto Kunnecke Machines, Precision Redline machines, Kirk Rudy machines, Massman Automation)Advanced math and reading skills and must be able to read and understand work and safety instructions in EnglishAbility to manage multiple activities at different stages of complexityDeveloped interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organization skills combined with structured problem solving and the ability to determine root cause, containment, and corrective actionsProficient computer skills/knowledgeMust be proficient in ExcelPay Rate: $24.00 - $28.00 depending on experiencePLI Physical Requirements and Work Environment CertificationPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
