SCM Group North America, a leader in industrial woodworking machinery, has multiple open opportunities in Technical Field Sales throughout the United States. Current and anticipated openings may support territories in the Northwest, Northeast/New England, Southeast, Texas, Mid-Atlantic, and other regions as business needs evolve.Our Sales Engineers use their technical expertise in CNC machinery to expand market presence and generate new business within a defined territory. This role is for a true hunter—someone who thrives on prospecting, turning leads into sales, and building customer relationships.This is an ideal opportunity for a person with a background in CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, or other high-tech capital equipment looking to expand their career in sales.This is a home-based position requiring regular travel within an assigned territory. Candidates should reside within the territory they support or near a major airport to facilitate efficient travel.CompensationBase ($50,000 - $80,000 range DOE) + strong opportunity to earn uncapped commissions.Key ResponsibilitiesProspect and develop new business within assigned territoryVisit customers and prospects to identify needs and opportunitiesBuild and maintain relationships with end users, dealers, and distributorsSupport dealers in driving sales execution and expanding market reachIdentify, qualify, and advance opportunities through the full sales cycleCollaborate with engineering and technical teams to support solution developmentPresent and demonstrate equipment and technical capabilities to customersLead commercial discussions, negotiate, and close salesMaintain accurate and up-to-date activity in CRM systemMonitor market trends, competitors, and customer needsQualifications3+ years of experience in capital equipment, CNC machinery, or industrial equipment, including at least 1 year of sales experienceStrong communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsSales-oriented personality with a proactive, consultative approach to sellingHunter mentality with demonstrated skills in prospecting, lead development, and solution sellingStrong mechanical, technical, or engineering aptitudeAbility to work independently in a field-based role with regular travel throughout the assigned territory.
