Construction Project Manager

A specialized federal design-build general contractor is hiring a Construction Project Manager to run federal government construction projects ranging from $10M to $30M — pre-construction through closeout. What you'll do: - Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities for assigned federal projects - Manage project buyout; negotiate scope and price with subcontractors - Monitor and control project budget and schedule; monthly cost-vs-budget analysis and percent-complete reporting - Review and approve subcontractor payment applications; prepare and submit owner pay applications - Review submittals, RFIs, and change order requests; manage RFI, submittal, change order, and shop drawing logs through closeout (O&M manuals, as-builts, punch lists) - Lead and manage field supervisors (typically 2 per project) Requirements: - 8+ years as a Construction Project Manager on Federal Government work - Excellent understanding of the USACE 3-Phase Quality Control System - Ability to manage multiple federal projects concurrently - Expert at reading complex construction drawings and specifications - Strong subcontract negotiation and writing skills - Fluent in Word, Excel, Project, Teams, Outlook - Highly organized: project files, payment requests, certified payroll Why this one: Steady federal backlog — not feast-or-famine private work — with a specialized federal design-build GC.
