Full Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and personable Bartender to join our vibrant hospitality team! The Bartenders will be responsible to prepare, serve and be able to mix and match ingredients in order to create drinks in accordance with guests’ needs and expectations. The primary purpose of the Bartender is to provide friendly, attentive and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests.
Essential Job Functions:
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Maintain positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Take beverage orders from guests.
Accept guest payments and process credit card charges.
Use Toast POS systems for transactions.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
Following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and all health and safety regulations set by the OHA.
Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including floors, counters, sinks, utensils, and shelves.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
Wiping down tables inside and outside, emptying inside and outside trash cans, picking up trash or debris, wiping of the windows, doors and mirrors when needed and changing kegs when asked
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications: (Include equipment knowledge/use)
Minimum 1 year food and beverage service and/or related food and beverage experience
Excellent knowledge of serving techniques, standard cocktails and wines
Excellent knowledge of beer, liquor, wine and common drink recipes
Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Handle a fast-paced work environment
Outstanding guest services skills
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written)
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register and Toast POS system and register
Groomed in a manner consistent with grooming standards
Professional presentation and positive attitude
OLCC Alcohol Service Permit
OHA Food Handler Card
Physical Requirements:
Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. In some instances, the entire shift
Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend
Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Ability to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance
Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator with temperatures ranging from 35°- 45°
Preferred Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 21 years of age
Minimum 1 year food and beverage service and/or related food and beverage experience
