Job DetailsDescriptionGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Primary responsibility is to coordinate the receiving department’s workload of all in-bound freight with efficient and accurate scheduling; preparation of receiving batches and inventory labels in a timely manner to start the process on schedule. Comfortable performing physically demanding receiving work during the workday. Maintain excellent communication with the Department Manager of Receiving on placement and staff performance as well as scheduling issues as they occur to make necessary adjustments while abiding by all safety guidelines.Examples Of Work PerformedCreate receiving batchesMaintain a truck schedule that is aligned with the performance of the receiving team for companySchedule appointments accordingly providing accurate information for delivery drivers to arrive in the right place at the right time while holding in bound freight companies responsible for timelinessCommunicate with merchandisers on ETA of incoming freight to keep customers with backorders awareConfirm arrival and paperwork before assigning a dock, freight carrier’s scorecard, packing list/batch discrepancies, etc.Prepare all batches and labels in advance for the scanner to accurately scan in the inventory as it is unloadedAdjust schedule accordingly based on actual receiving completion times to ensure commitments are continually metProvide insight on productivity, compliance, metrics, and efficiency opportunities to the Dept.
