EDM Machine Operator

*Pay:* $20–$25 per hour, based on experience *Schedule:* 1st Shift | 4:00 AM–12:00 PM *Employment Type:* Contract About the Role Step into a high-precision manufacturing environment where your EDM expertise directly supports the production of complex, engineered components. As an *EDM Machine Operator*, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and monitoring Electrical Discharge Machining equipment to produce precision parts that meet strict engineering and quality requirements. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced machinist who is comfortable working with *RAM EDM, Wire EDM, and EDM Drilling operations*, reading blueprints, maintaining tight tolerances, and performing quality inspections. Key Responsibilities * Set up, program, operate, and monitor *RAM EDM, Wire EDM, and EDM Drilling equipment*. * Manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. * Adjust machine settings, tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to optimize accuracy and productivity. * Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and technical specifications. * Perform in-process and final inspections using appropriate measuring tools. * Ensure parts meet required dimensional and quality specifications. * Safely operate *overhead cranes* to move raw materials, workpieces, tooling, and finished components. * Perform routine equipment checks, basic preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting. * Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. * Record production data and maintain accurate job and quality documentation. * Communicate production issues, dimensional deviations, or equipment concerns to supervisors and engineering teams. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and production efficiency. * Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to cross-train on similar manufacturing equipment and processes. Required Qualifications * *5+ years of EDM machining experience preferred.* * Hands-on experience operating *RAM EDM and Wire EDM machines*. * Experience with *EDM Drilling* preferred. * Ability to set up and operate EDM equipment independently. * Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings. * Strong understanding of machining tolerances, surface finishes, and shop math. * Experience performing dimensional inspections and quality control checks. * Ability to work accurately with tight tolerances in a production or job-shop environment. * Experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment. * High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with EDM equipment such as *Charmilles, Mitsubishi, or similar brands*. * Experience programming or editing EDM machine parameters. * Technical certificate or vocational training in machining, EDM, CNC, or a related field. * Familiarity with ISO or similar quality standards. * Experience in high-precision manufacturing supporting industries such as energy, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing. * Overhead crane certification preferred.
