This position conducts continuous rounds throughout the center to monitor for fire hazards, safety concerns, and emergency situations while ensuring resident safety and reporting issues immediately to nursing leadership and maintenance as needed.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct routine and continuous patrols throughout the facility during assigned shift.Monitor hallways, resident areas, common spaces, exits, stairwells, and mechanical areas for fire or safety hazards.Ensure fire exits, fire extinguishers, and emergency pathways remain unobstructed at all times.Observe for smoke, unusual odors, electrical concerns, unsafe equipment, or other potential hazards.Immediately report emergencies, safety concerns, or suspicious activity to nursing supervisor and/or emergency personnel.Maintain accurate fire watch and safety logs documenting rounds and observations.Assist with maintaining a calm and secure environment for residents overnight.Respond appropriately during emergencies following facility policies and procedures.Ensure doors are secured according to facility guidelines.Communicate professionally with residents, families, visitors, and staff.Follow all facility infection control, HIPAA, and safety policies.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.Strong observation and communication skills.Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.Reliable attendance and punctuality required.Must be able to work overnight/night shift hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.Physical RequirementsFrequent walking throughout the facility during the entire shift.Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.Work EnvironmentThis position works within a skilled nursing facility environment and may involve exposure to residents with varying medical conditions. The Fire Watch Monitor must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and awareness of resident safety at all times.ScheduleNight ShiftFull-Time / Part-Time opportunities availableWeekend and holiday availability may be required
