Our team is committed to delivering excellent client experiences through education, communication, and high-quality medicine.We are proud to offer Fear Free services and foster a culture rooted in compassion, collaboration, and clinical excellence.About YouAs the Medical Director, you will serve as the clinical and cultural leader of the hospital, partnering closely with the Practice Manager and Thrive leadership to guide medical standards, support team development, and drive sustainable hospital performance. This role blends hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to shape the future of the hospital while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.About the RoleAs a key leader within the hospital, the Medical Director plays a critical role in setting the medical vision, maintaining standards of care, and cultivating an engaged and high-performing veterinary team. You will collaborate with hospital and regional leadership to implement best practices, support operational excellence, and ensure an exceptional patient and client experience. Your leadership will directly influence culture, medical quality, and team satisfaction.Experience and Skills RequirementsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or equivalent degree requiredState Veterinary Board License in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hiredActive DEA license or DEA licensure eligibleDemonstrated clinical excellence in small animal general practicePrior leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience preferred (We will mentor an emerging Medical Leader)Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skillsCommitment to medical quality, team development, and client education Medical Director ResponsibilitiesServe as the clinical leader for the hospital, establishing and upholding high standards of medical care and patient safetyPartner with the Practice Manager to align medical excellence with operational and financial goalsMentor, coach, and support associate veterinarians through training, feedback, and professional developmentFoster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative hospital culture that supports team engagement and retentionGuide medical protocols, clinical workflows, and standard operating procedures in alignment with Thrive best practicesSupport recruitment, onboarding, and retention of veterinary team membersLead by example through active clinical practice and client communicationParticipate in quality assurance initiatives, case reviews, and continuous improvement effortsCollaborate with Thrive's regional and medical leadership teams to implement strategic initiativesProvide Your Best Care as a Thrive Pet Healthcare VeterinarianAt Thrive Pet Healthcare, you will care for a pet's whole life, foster strong human-animal bonds, and connect with your local community, all while supported by a nationwide network.
