Head Grill Chef
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head Grill Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As the head of the Grill, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of all hot food, ensuring the highest quality and presentation standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage a high-pressure kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen and all food preparation activities, including menu planning and food safety protocols.
- Supervise a team of cooks, line cooks, and other kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Develop and implement inventory control systems to ensure efficient use of ingredients and minimize waste.
- Manage inventory and ordering processes to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure timely delivery of fresh ingredients.
- Oversee all aspects of food management, including food preparation, presentation, and plating.
- Coordinate with other departments, including banquets, to ensure seamless service and presentation.
- Manage kitchen equipment and supplies, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Develop and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the catering team to ensure that all catering functions meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Develop and implement recipes, menu items, and special dishes to enhance the dining experience.
- Collaborate with the bartending team to create signature cocktails and develop beverage menus that complement our food offerings.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that all guests have an exceptional dining experience.
- Maintain a positive and respectful work environment by leading by example and fostering open communication among all kitchen staff.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, including experience as a sous chef or executive chef.
- Strong knowledge of culinary arts, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Proven experience in kitchen management, including inventory control, food safety, and shift management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team of kitchen staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Experience with food management software and inventory management systems.
- A passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients.
- A current food handlers certification or the ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 21 – 30 per week
