This individual will own all SEC reporting and technical accounting while having direct visibility to senior leadership. This Director level candidate will have the opportunity to tighten processes and gain exposure to complex transactions. Their ideal candidate will be someone coming out of a top Public Accounting firm at a manager level or above with public clients. Perks:Career growth opportunities Newly created position High impact position Equity package Casual work environment Responsibilities:Own all technical accounting research, position memos, and company-wide accounting policy development, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and evolving regulatory standardsLead end-to-end SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q), driving continuous improvements in accuracy, completeness, and filing timelinesServe as the company's primary technical accounting resource on complex transactions, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and M&A purchase accountingManage the external audit relationship, coordinating deliverables, PBC lists, and audit committee materials to ensure a smooth and efficient audit processDesign and maintain a strong internal controls environment (SOX 404), leading documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts across the finance organizationPartner cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, HR, and business leaders to assess the accounting implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and strategic transactionsPrepare and present technical accounting analyses and reporting updates to the CFO and Audit CommitteeBuild, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, establishing clear priorities and fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvementRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degreePublic Accounting experience is required.
