Make a difference with us!Under general supervision, provides advanced level emergency and non-emergency care to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Possess good verbal communication skillsInteract professionally with other health care personnelInteract professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick and injured personsCleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures, including inside & outside of vehiclesRestocks and replace used linens, blankets and other suppliesComplete daily vehicle inspection and makes careful check of all equipment so that the Ambulance is ready for the next runMaintains Ambulance in efficient operating conditionKeep clean and neat at all timeWear company issued uniforms while on duty; additionally, be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniformsSecures all passengers in van per the Company Passenger Securement PolicyResponsible for safe loading/unloading of all passengersResponsible for safe operation of vehicle in all environmental and traffic conditionsUnderstands basic medical-legal principles & terminologyEnsures all reports, letters, and documentation are accurate and completed in timely fashionMay be required to administer first aid to a coworker if necessary.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredCPR & First Aid CertifiedValid driver's license and good driving recordCandidate must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification requirements before starting employmentPhysical Demands:Ability to safely operate EMS vehicles and essential equipmentBend, sit, kneel, and lift up to 125 lbs; push/pull objects over 50 lbsMaintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environmentsTolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulancePerform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situationsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
