Position Overview: Mechanics are skilled professionals responsible for conducting unscheduled equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance operations. This role involves keeping track of equipment status, performing repairs, and maintaining a well-organized maintenance process. Mechanics will provide regular updates to the Site Chief regarding ongoing repairs and maintenance activities as part of the weekly reporting process. Responsibilities: Equipment Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify the root causes of problems. Conduct effective and efficient repairs to restore equipment to operational condition. Use technical expertise to address both electrical and mechanical issues. Scheduled Maintenance: Participate in scheduled maintenance operations, following established procedures and guidelines. Perform preventive maintenance checks, inspections, and adjustments to ensure equipment reliability. Status Updates: Maintain a clear record of ongoing repairs, completed maintenance tasks, and any pending work. Provide regular status updates on equipment repairs and maintenance activities to the Site Chief on a weekly basis. Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules. Communicate effectively with the Site Chief to provide timely updates and address any concerns. Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of repairs performed, maintenance activities completed, and parts used. Generate comprehensive reports detailing work progress, equipment status, and upcoming maintenance plans. Quality Control: Ensure repairs and maintenance activities meet quality standards and adhere to established protocols. Conduct thorough testing to verify the effectiveness of repairs and adjustments. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while conducting repairs and maintenance tasks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and procedures. Problem Solving: Utilize problem-solving skills to identify solutions for complex technical issues. Implement creative approaches to address challenges in equipment repair and maintenance. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on equipment technologies, repair techniques, and safety practices through ongoing training and self-directed learning. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in electrical or mechanical fields is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in equipment repairs and maintenance. Proficiency in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to address a wide range of technical issues. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills for relaying updates and information to supervisors. Physical capability to perform repairs, lift heavy equipment, and work in varying environments. Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
