Manufacturing / Pinpoint Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing / Pinpoint Engineer to support assembly operations for building construction and earth-moving equipment. This role focuses heavily on Pinpoint system configuration, integration of torque tools and quality devices, MES support, and continuous improvement to enhance throughput, quality, and process reliability. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with manufacturing systems, assembly planning, value stream setup, and tooling/process optimization. Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly Planning & Pinpoint System Support Provide assembly planning support for Building Construction Products (BCP) and Earth-Moving Equipment. Set up Assembly Value Streams in Pinpoint, including: Sections Stations Zones Assembly operations Configure Pinpoint with assembly line torque tools, fixtures, IPV (In-Process Validation) checks, and quality interlocks. Tool & Device Integration Integrate torque tools, sockets, and inspection devices with Pinpoint to improve preventive control and process interlocks. Configure and support the Andon system integration with Pinpoint for real-time alerts and escalation workflows. Production Tracking & Metrics Develop production dashboards and tracking mechanisms for: Cycle time Tool/fixture downtime Material downtime Station/zone-level KPIs Utilize MES systems (MESA or similar) to support assembly manufacturing operations. Standard Work & Documentation Update standard work, visual work instructions, and assembly process documentation as required. Ensure compliance with established procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Continuous Improvement Initiatives Lead and support CI initiatives including: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Process optimization Waste reduction Throughput improvement Quality enhancement Collaborate with shop personnel to identify and resolve production issues involving tooling, processes, or equipment. Manufacturing Operations Support Provide engineering support to the shop by developing or improving: Tooling Fixtures Equipment Assembly processes Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to maintain efficient operations. Required Qualifications Experience with Pinpoint application setup and integration (mandatory). Hands-on experience integrating torque tools, sockets, and inspection devices into manufacturing systems. Strong understanding of assembly planning, value streams, and workflow design. Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), especially for assembly environments. Knowledge of standard work creation, documentation, and visual instructions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exposure to continuous improvement and lean methodologies (e.g., VSM). Ability to collaborate effectively with shop floor teams and cross-functional departments. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to heavy equipment, automotive, industrial machinery, or similar manufacturing industries. Experience with Andon systems and production tracking dashboards. Background in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
