Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont, is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Staff Orthopedic Surgeon to join its dynamic Orthopedics team. We offer comprehensive musculoskeletal care and surgical excellence within a collaborative healthcare environment.Job Responsibilities:Diagnose and evaluate orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approaches.Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other orthopedic interventions.Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety, recovery, and optimal outcomes.Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists.Participate in rotating on-call coverage as part of a full-time orthopedic service.Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery and apply evidence-based practices to clinical decision-making.Participate in continuing medical education, professional development activities, conferences, and workshops.Adhere to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards including patient confidentiality and informed consent.Qualifications:Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.Clean malpractice history.Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.Dedication to ongoing professional development.License and Certification Requirements:Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.Valid Vermont medical license to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.Current CPR certification (must be obtained prior to start).DEA license (must be obtained prior to start).
