Job SummaryThe Production Team Member supports multiple SciMatCo operations (cabinetmaking, plastics fabrication, finishing, and wood prep) by operating tools and equipment, assembling components, and ensuring quality workmanship. This cross‑functional role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and teamwork across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate woodworking and plastics equipment (saws, routers, sanders, drills) and use hand tools to fabricate and assemble components per drawings and work orders.Assist with CNC setups or basic machine operations under supervision; verify part dimensions against specifications.Prep, sand, and finish surfaces; assist in spray booth, and equipment cleanup as needed.Inspect materials and finished parts for quality; perform basic rework or escalate issues promptly.Maintain accurate, orderly work areas; follow 5S and safety procedures at all times.Collaborate with teammates and flex across workstations to meet production schedules.Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental or company objectivesMetrics for Success Quality & Rework: Meet quality standards with minimal rework.Productivity & On‑Time Completion: Achieve daily production targets and support on‑time shipmentsSafety Compliance: Follow PPE/LOTO policies and maintain zero incidents.Attendance & Reliability: Maintain strong attendance and punctuality.Team Collaboration: Demonstrate adaptability and effective communication across functions.QualificationsSkills & QualificationsBasic ability to read work instructions, drawings, and use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers).Comfort using hand tools and learning operation of stationary machinery; ability to cross‑train quickly.Attention to detail, quality focus, and safe work habits; effective communication and teamwork.Basic math (fractions/decimals) and computer literacy for production tracking.RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required; prior manufacturing or woodworking experience preferred but not required.Ability to stand most of the day and lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly (heavier with assistance).Comfortable working in loud, dusty environments with temperature fluctuations.Availability for occasional overtime during peak workloads.Work Environment & ScheduleManufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and loud noise. Proper PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection, is required. Regular schedule is Monday–Friday, first shift (6:30 AM – 3PM), with occasional overtime as business needs require.
