The HRBP will provide guidance across employee relations, compliance, leadership development, and workforce planning, while ensuring the consistent execution of HR practices across locations.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic PartnershipPartner with field and operational leaders to align HR strategies with business goalsTranslate operational needs into practical people strategies that support performance, engagement, and retentionProvide ongoing coaching and guidance to leaders on workforce and organizational effectivenessEmployee Relations & ComplianceManage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolutionEnsure compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and internal policiesApply policies consistently and exercise sound judgment to mitigate riskTalent & Workforce PlanningSupport high-volume hiring strategies and workforce planning initiativesAssist with succession planning and leadership pipeline developmentAnalyze workforce data such as turnover, engagement, and absenteeism to inform solutionsLeadership DevelopmentCoach and support frontline and mid-level leaders to strengthen capability and accountabilitySupport performance management processes, including goal setting and feedbackFacilitate or support training related to compliance, leadership effectiveness, and workplace policiesHR Operations & Field EngagementEnsure consistent execution of HR programs and initiatives across all locationsSupport change management efforts related to growth or organizational changesPartner with HR shared services (payroll, benefits, HR systems) to support a positive employee experienceMaintain a visible presence at operational sites and build credibility with employees at all levelsTravel up to 30% within the assigned marketQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related fieldMinimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience supporting California-based operationsStrong working knowledge of California employment law, employee relations, and complianceExperience supporting multi-unit, high-volume hospitality or retail environmentsProven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionStrong interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution skillsAbility to work onsite and closely partner with operational leadersPreferredHR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, PHRca, or SPHRAdvanced coursework or certification in California employment lawExperience supporting geographically dispersed teams----------------------------CompensationSalary Range: $110,000 – $115,000 annuallyFinal compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and alignment with role requirements within the posted range.---------------------------Bishop & Company provides recruiting and placement services for client companies and opportunities for job seekers throughout Hawaii.
