Compassionate End-of-Life Care Veterinarian WantedAre you a veterinarian with a deep sense of empathy and a calling to support pets and their families during life’s most tender moments? We are seeking a dedicated End-of-Life Care Veterinarian to join our team and provide humane, compassionate in-home euthanasia, throughout Northeast Ohio. About Our PracticeA Gentle Farewell was founded in 2012 and continues to be locally owned and operated. There are no private equity or corporate influences involved in the care of our patients and clients. We are a family-oriented practice, allowing you the flexibility to balance your work and family lives. In this position, you will focus exclusively on end-of-life care, helping pets pass peacefully in the comfort of their homes. You will guide families through difficult decisions, ensuring dignity, respect, and emotional support every step of the way. We do not outsource cremation. We started our own crematory, A Gentle Pet Cremation, in 2021. We did this so that we can guarantee that our beloved patients are handled with care throughout the entire process, until they are either returned home to their families or their remains are spread on private property.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide in-home euthanasia services with compassion and professionalismOffer occasional quality-of-life assessments and palliative care consultationsEducate and support pet owners through the end-of-life processMaintain clear, empathetic communication with familiesCoordinate aftercare services and transport pets as needed RequirementsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and active Ohio licenseValid driver’s license and reliable SUV-type vehicleMust be able to lift 45 pounds unassisted, and up to 100+ pounds with assistanceStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a calm, empathetic, and supportive presenceComfort working independently in a mobile settingCompensation and BenefitsFull-time (4 days/week) and Part-time (1-3 days/week) positions are available. Flexible scheduling with compensation based on number of appointments seen. Veterinarians are asked to work at least two weekend shifts per month. Early evening availability is beneficial and additionally compensated.Mileage reimbursement at the current federal rate. Ability to start and end your day from home.Benefits for full-time employees including state license, DEA, AVMA, PLIT. OVMA, IAAHPC, CE allowance. Medical, dental, and vision coverage are available.
