Position: Project Coordinator, AutomotiveEmployment Type: Full-Time, Direct HireLocation: Detroit, MI(Must be in the Detroit / Southfield, MI area to able to go be in office and go onsite with sales to customers.)Salary: $55,000-$65,000 DOEPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Coordinator to support automotive-related customer and acquisition projects. This role acts as a key liaison between sales, customers, distributors, and internal teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and excels at coordinating multiple priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Sales SupportIndependently manage customer and acquisition projects from start to finishSupport the Sales Director with strategic initiatives and special projectsCoordinate product support activities and customer requirementsPrepare and manage quotations, pricing programs, and sales-related documentationCustomer & Distributor CoordinationServe as a primary point of contact for distributors, customers, and sales teamsCoordinate color matching processes with distributors and end usersHandle customer inquiries and follow up on requests in a timely mannerManage complaint resolution and regional follow-upPlanning & ReportingMonitor supply chain activities and review customer forecastsMaintain project tracking lists; send reminders, updates, and action itemsCollect and analyze sales reports, itineraries, and follow-up actionsEnsure reporting is accurate and delivered within established timelinesDocumentation & AdministrationPrepare documentation for customer visits, sales meetings, and technical training sessionsMaintain customer databases, reference lists, and project recordsTrack and manage color sample inventories and marketing materialsSupport trade show preparation, logistics, and materials handlingOperations & ComplianceUtilize internal systems (e.g., SAP/ERP) for project tracking and reportingAssist with invoice follow-up and collections as neededEnsure accurate communication of technical and project informationMaintain compliance with company policies and proceduresQualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED2+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or related industryStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressureStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and within established processesPreferred Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related fieldExperience with SAP or similar ERP systemsBackground in paint, coatings, or automotive industryWork Environment & Physical RequirementsPrimarily office-based with extended periods of computer workOccasional travel (domestic and international) may be requiredAbility to lift and carry up to 20 poundsMay involve exposure to manufacturing environments, including fumes or chemicalsPhysical activities may include standing, walking, bending, and reaching
