About the RoleSpeedy Cargo LLC is a rapidly growing transportation and logistics company operating high-volume, 24-hour operations in partnership with major national logistics networks. We are seeking an Assistant operations manager to help lead daily operations, improve team communication, and drive operational performance across our driver workforce and dispatch operations.This role is ideal for an experienced operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and is passionate about building strong teams, improving accountability, and ensuring operational excellence.The Assistant Operations Manager will work directly with company leadership and the Operations Manager to strengthen day-to-day execution, improve scheduling and staffing coverage, and ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipAssist in overseeing daily logistics operations including driver performance, dispatch coordination, and operational execution.Support the Operations Manager in maintaining smooth 24-hour operational coverage.Step in to resolve operational challenges quickly and maintain service reliability.Flexible on Availability including late hours and weekends is crucial this role.Workforce Scheduling & StaffingManage driver scheduling to ensure proper coverage for all operational shifts.Proactively address staffing gaps and minimize operational disruptions.Coordinate with leadership to forecast staffing needs and improve workforce planning.Performance & KPI ManagementMonitor operational KPIs and identify areas where performance needs improvement.Implement systems to improve reliability, accountability, and operational consistency.Work with dispatch and driver leadership to ensure operational targets are met consistently.Driver Communication & Team LeadershipLead communication between dispatch, drivers, and management to prevent miscommunication and operational errors.Coach drivers and lead drivers on expectations, responsibilities, and performance standards.Build a culture of accountability and professionalism across the team.Team Motivation & AccountabilityEnsure lead drivers and team leaders are effectively supporting daily operations.Motivate teams to meet operational standards while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.Address performance issues quickly through coaching and corrective action when necessary.Safety & CompliancePromote safe operational practices and reinforce company safety expectations.Support incident review processes and driver coaching where necessary.Maintain strong operational compliance standards across the team.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve operational processes, communication systems, and team coordination.Implement operational improvements that increase efficiency and reliability.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for an operations professional who brings leadership, structure, and accountability to a fast-moving logistics environment.The ideal candidate will have:Experience supervising teams in logistics, supply chain, distribution, or transportation operationsStrong leadership and team management skillsProven ability to manage workforce scheduling and operational staffingExperience working with operational performance metrics and KPIsExcellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate between multiple teamsAbility to remain calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExperience working in high-volume logistics or transportation operations is highly preferred.What Success Looks Like in This RoleSuccess in this role means:Clear and consistent communication across dispatch, drivers, and leadershipReliable staffing coverage and well-organized schedulingDrivers and lead drivers who understand and execute their responsibilitiesOperational KPIs consistently meeting or exceeding expectationsA team culture built on accountability, professionalism, and collaborationCompensationCompetitive salary based on experienceLeadership role with strong growth opportunityOpportunity to help shape operational systems and team structureWhy Join Speedy Cargo LLCSpeedy Cargo LLC is a rapidly growing logistics company committed to operational excellence, strong leadership, and building a high-performing team.
