Oracle Database Developer (GIS Focus)
Are you a seasoned Database Developer with a passion for GIS and data modernization? We are looking for a technical expert to help drive the evolution of a mission-critical, telecommunications-focused Operational Support System (OSS).This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant database migration and enhance geospatial visualization capabilities for a dynamic, high-impact web application.The ProjectYou will be an integral part of an Agile/Scrum team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a complex data environment. A major focus of this project is the stepwise migration from Oracle 11g to Oracle 19c, ensuring seamless functionality throughout the transition. You will also manage integrations with Microsoft SQL Server and leverage the full power of the Esri GIS suite (ArcGIS Server, SDE, and ArcGIS Pro).What You'll Be DoingDatabase Architecture: Design and maintain sophisticated data models using SQL, complex triggers, and procedural SQL to handle multi-step transactions.Migration Strategy: Execute a precise upgrade path from Oracle 11g to 19c.Geospatial Integration: Utilize spatial queries and geometry objects to visualize data and fulfill advanced mapping and analysis requests.Collaboration & Leadership: Provide technical guidance, document standards, troubleshoot problems, and contribute to the overall project lifecycle in a professional, team-oriented environment. Key RequirementsExperience: 6+ years of total experience (must qualify for journeyman level).Core Database Expertise: 3+ years of Oracle development and 2+ years of Database Administration.Spatial & GIS: 2+ years of experience with spatial queries/geometry objects and 1+ year of experience with Esri products.Data Modeling: 1+ year of experience with ERDs and data model visualization.DevOps: 1+ year of experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Education: Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field (or equivalent experience).Professionalism: Ability to work on a team, propose innovative solutions, and effectively communicate complex issues.
