This role is ideal for professionals passionate about DevSecOps principles and eager to work within a multidisciplinary, collaborative engineering environment. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for Boeing's Phantom Works products, primarily supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and Phantom Works software engineering teams. Phantom Works is renowned for transforming bold ideas into operational solutions that enhance defense capabilities, emphasizing innovation, rigorous testing, and collaboration. The role involves developing and maintaining pipeline infrastructure to streamline software development processes, deploying multiple environments, and integrating automated testing, metrics, and security scanning to ensure high-quality, secure software delivery. The candidate will play a key role in fostering continuous improvement through automation and process optimization, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet program requirements and uphold security standards.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and skills aligned with the following qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or related fields.Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-start date.Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing.At least 2 years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps) and/or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps).Experience with test automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using version control, build, and test automation tools.Preferred qualifications include more extensive experience, active U.S. Secret security clearance, proficiency with GitLab, Agile methodologies, containerization, build automation, and familiarity with security frameworks such as RMF. Candidates with 3+ years of related work experience, experience in software containerization and orchestration, and knowledge of modern development languages and tools will be highly competitive.ResponsibilitiesLead the development, documentation, and maintenance of standardized DevSecOps processes, tools, and performance metrics to optimize the software engineering lifecycle.Automate, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve software development, testing, integration, deployment, and security processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and sustain scalable, secure, and robust software development pipelines.Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and security regulations within the DevSecOps environment.Install and configure integrated software engineering environments based on DevSecOps principles.Design and develop automation processes to support software build, release, and deployment activities.Provide technical support to ensure compliance with application security, IT, and customer security directives and requirements.Manage software dependencies, including evaluation, licensing, integration, and maintenance of software used by development teams.Assist with database support, virtual environment setup, and infrastructure hardening to prevent cybersecurity threats.Advise management and program leadership on software process adherence and implementation strategies to ensure engineering excellence and project success.Lead training initiatives to educate team members on DevSecOps tools, principles, and best practices.BenefitsBoeing offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to attract, engage, and retain top talent.
